These terms apply to the public informational website at bounder.io, operated by Nell Watson, Inc. By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully and responsibly.
Research status
Bounder presents research and open reference software for physical interlocks and trustworthy automation. What you see here is informational — not certification, operational approval, or proof that any system is ready for a particular deployment.
Physical safety
Do not connect Bounder code to aircraft, robots, industrial equipment, or other physical systems without the expertise, authorisation, hazard analysis, testing, and legal compliance that real hardware demands. You remain responsible for any system you build or operate.
Intended use
Bounder is designed as a restraint-only interlock. It decides whether an action requested elsewhere may go ahead, and otherwise keeps the machine in a safe state. It is not designed, offered or supported for weapons, targeting or fire-control use. Where the simulator and the recorded evidence model conditions such as a person signalling surrender, they use them only as reasons to hold a request.
The public code is published openly. If you build, supply or export anything based on it, you are responsible for complying with the export-control and sanctions law that applies to you, including the UK Strategic Export Control Lists and EU Regulation 2021/821.
Open-source code
Source code linked from this site is governed by the licence included in its repository. The public Bounder repository is licensed under the Apache License 2.0, including its patent, attribution, and warranty provisions. If website text conflicts with a repository licence, the repository licence governs the code.
Accuracy and availability
We aim to label verified and unverified claims clearly. The project remains in development, and information may be incomplete, outdated, or changed without notice. The site and linked materials may be unavailable at times.
No warranty and limitation of liability
The website, simulator, recorded evidence, schemas, and guidance are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, them.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site or project to interfere with systems you do not own or control, evade aviation or safety rules, endanger people or property, probe public infrastructure without permission, submit malicious material, or misrepresent research software as certified.
Third-party services
Links and integrations may involve GitHub, Formspree, Render, Cloudflare, or other independent services. Those services have their own terms, licences, and privacy practices. A link does not guarantee availability, endorsement, or compatibility.
Creed Space Fleet is the policy service in Bounder’s reference architecture, not an independent reviewer, so its signed policies and staging evidence are not third-party assurance. Published evidence records also reference METTLE assurance tiers and auditor identities, which are vocabulary inside the evidence rather than services this site links to or independent audits.
Intellectual property
The code in the public Bounder repository (github.com/NellInc/Bounder ) and the website’s original text are licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The photography is licensed as listed in the image credits . The explainer film and its poster are excluded from Apache-2.0, with all rights reserved. The Bounder name, wordmark, and mark are not licensed under Apache-2.0, and may not be used to imply endorsement or certification.
Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts with applicable jurisdiction in England and Wales may hear disputes, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you.
